Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you're all having a fine one so far! I just woke up and suddenly the calendar had changed, which really threw me off balance, but I've decided to make the best of this Rip Van Winkle-lite scenario I've been thrust into. Now, why did I sleep through the wonderment of the changing of the years, you ask? Well, it's a long story, and to tell it, I'd have to tell you about my trip to Indiana. What's that, you say? I was going to write about that anyway? Oh, joy! Then write I shall! I travelled to Indiana upon a Delta airplane with my sister, who was shaking and scared and other associated verbs and adjectives. However, she got over it. We arrived in Indiana and as my cursing levels dropped, I believe my wit levels raised in response. I was on point here, and in not-so-rare form. We met my Aunts Debbie and Sheryl and left with them. We ate at a local restaurant called "Louie's Coney Island (unintelligible)." I'd eaten there with my dad years ago, but this place was under new management and the food wasn't nearly as good. We went our seperate ways there, my sister with Sheryl and I with Debbie. I met someone I'd known from my last visit to Indiana at her house, and we played some Mario Kart together. Now, let it be known that I very much enjoy Super Mario Kart and the Mario Party series. However, after playing at LEAST three 50-turn games of Mario Party and then pretty much unlocking everything on Double Dash from scratch... I'm a little Marioed out. My cousin Chace arrived, and he was awesome. My cousin and I are exactly alike in the majority of areas, except he's taller, leaner, has dark hair, and is able to keep a girlfriend. Chace introduced my to Joss Whedon's Firefly, which I'd been meaning to watch. We watched the first few episodes and then I went to sleep. The next day, Chace took me to play a game of Axis and Allies with some of his friends from high school. I'd never played before, but it turned out to be pretty easy. Kind of like extreme Risk. The game lasted somewhere around five hours, and then Chace and I had to leave to meet up with Theresa, his goil. Outside, Chace threw a snowball at me, but his aim was off. He hit me directly in my left testicle, which hurt for quite awhile. We met with Theresa, and she was pretty cool. We managed to play Mario Party for the rest of the night. On Wednesday, we woke up late and went to Best Buy, where Chace bought Harvey Birdman and Serenity on DVD. I picked up a few DVDs I'd been meaning to get (Batman Begins and Ghostbusters 1&2) and we met with more of Chace's friends. There was the promise of returning home with them to play something new, but I ended up playing Mario Party for about six hours. After everyone left, Theresa, Chace, and I watched the entire first season of Harvey Birdman. Thursday was a lazy day (as if the rest hadn't been). We watched all the remaining episodes of Firefly, and then watched Serenity. I've become a huge fan of the series (so much so that I bought the box set myself, yesterday). It's really very smart. Then we played more Mario Kart and went to bed. Friday was my final day and I played Mario Kart with Chace until I had to leave. Chace and I parted ways and my Aunts brought my sister and I to the airport. We flew back to Atlanta and met with my mom. When I returned home, Thomas and Adam showed up. We travelled to an apartment at which Thomas was house/dogsitting for the weekend. There were two dogs there with whom I got along with instantly. Until they started excreting waste everywhere (such as on my sock). Also, there wasn't much to do in the small apartment. The futons we slept on were the most uncomfortable things I'd ever slept on. So Adam, Thomas, and I only got around three hours of sleep. We then sat around the apartment and did nothing on Saturday morning for a very, very long time. Adam and I returned to my house and I drove us to get something to eat. We then went to hang out with Joe. Around 10:00, we ended up coming back home and went to sleep (With Adam sleeping at his church... long...er story). So I woke up at noon. Neat! |
